But there is an important caveat: these days Turkey is turning into one huge road. Millions of people go to relatives, on the coast, in Bodrum, Cesme, Antalya, Marmaris.
Therefore, the most serious traffic jams are traditionally expected in the directions: Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Mersin.
On the roads also strengthen police control and the number of radars. Authorities have already warned of increased speed and document checks.
Many shopping centres, banks and government agencies will work on a reduced schedule.
Very high load of ferries and airports is expected in Istanbul.
