Historical origin
The Column Grant Column is inspired by a set of six marble columns created in Granada, Spain, between 1350 and 1400, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The columns originally belonged to the Alhambra, the famous royal palace town in Granada, whose name means "red" because of the red clay used in the construction. Narrow columns are characteristic of the architectural style of the Nasrid dynasty (1232–1492) and have ever adorned outdoor courtyards between palaces. Column Grant column, made of warm natural oak veneer, becomes a museum-style pedestal for presentation.
