Historical origin
Column Lucca is inspired by a set of six marble columns created in Granada, Spain, between 1350 and 1400, and now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The columns originally belonged to the Alhambra, the famous royal palace town in Granada, whose name means "red", after the red clay used in construction. Narrow columns are characteristic of the architectural style of the Nasrid dynasty (1232–1492) and decorated the open courtyards between the palaces. Column Lucca, made of warm natural travertine, becomes a museum-type pedestal for presentation.
